Unique and special are initial feelings you experience when entering Resurgent Vineyard, Milton Freewater, Oregon on the South Fork of the Walla Walla River Canyon.
Beauty and bounty abound on this unique and wonderful vineyard property, with massive hillsides reaching down to the Walla Walla River that borders the entire property on the north and south, and to the East, the spectacular views of the Blue Mountains.
Cobblestones are everywhere for grapes varietals that exceed in such an environment, varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. With a vineyard elevation of 1440 ft, the soils consist primarily of a mixture of basalt cobblestones and wind-deposited silt (loess) eroded from the Blue Mountains. The soils are “very deep, well drained soils that formed in alluvium from mixed sources”, according to Dr. Kevin Pogue of Whitman University.
The surrounding Valley beauty frames the original structures built in the early 1900’s.
